dc.description.abstract This article informs counselors of the importance of training teaching professionals in the use of Psychological First Aid (PFA). PFA is a form of trauma-informed practice that provides a framework for the support of primary and secondary school children who are experiencing a crisis or traumatic event. The article further discusses how children are impacted by and respond to these crises and traumatic events. PFA is outlined by eight core actions implemented by teachers, which provide a template for teachers to effectively respond to children who have experienced a crisis or traumatic event. This framework also assists student with identifying and using effective coping strategies and support resources. en_US
